Domaine Luc Lapeyre San Bres 2009, Languedoc, France - $10.99/btl ($9.89 on 12+ btls mix) So how do we pick which wine will be on the homepage? We don't strategize based on special deals offered to us by distributors....we don't look and see what we have a lot of and decide to get rid of it....we decide on the spot as we taste the wine at our bar for the first time. If we've learned anything over the last five years, we've learned how to recognize a good deal when we taste one. CLICK HERE to continue reading...

ERIC KENT FALL PRE-RELEASE TASTING
We were rather pleased when the nice folks over at Eric Kent Wines agreed to pour their Fall pinot noir and chardonnay releases a month before their actual release at our bar. For one night only, the Eric Kent Stiling Pinot Noir 2008 and Eric Kent Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2008 will be available for taste and purchase (in limited quantities) on Wednesday, August 11th. And in our opinions, it's the Stiling Pinot that really put Eric Kent on the map. Please join us and winemaker Kent Humphrey to taste these two advance releases and also the currently available Russian River Pinot Noir 08 and Kalen's Big Boy Syrah 07.

Welcome to the 10th installment of "WINE PARAPHERNALIA THAT MAKES US UNCOMFORTABLE AND/OR SCARED" (or W.P.T.M.U.U.A.O.S. for short)
What better way to tell your guests that you're a raging alcoholic prone to dropping your glass when you throw up and pass out at 6pm than to whip out your GETA GRIP wine stem holder? We all break wine glasses but it's not usually because you can't hold onto the stem, right? Why not just invent "Wine Tape" and secure each glass to your arm with a quick flip of a tape gun (Wine Tape is registered trade mark of Colorado Wine Company..TM...(R)...etc.). And that man in that picture is holding that glass like he's about to stab himself in the eye or kill everyone in the bar.

REGULAR WINE TASTING SCHEDULE
Friday Wine Tasting: Wines That Don't Suck At All Friday, July 23rd 5:30 - 8:30 pm $15/person for 5 wines + artisanal cheeses from Auntie Em's Two of the wines were in a fight to be on our homepage right now... the San Bres red and the Quita Do Correio White...the red won out but the white is an equally good deal. At the heart of the melon and citrus flavors of this white wine is the powerful Encruzado varietal, blended with Malvasia Fina, Bical and Cerceal. Although the Malvasia is bone dry, its unique honeydew melon flavor and scent , providing the captivating aroma and soft, rich fruit that pervade the structure given by the Encruzado, Bical and Cerceal maintain the crisp acidity of the wine. If those last two sentences didn't sound natural, it's because I copied and pasted the importer's notes, which we happen to agree with. Normally we would just say 'it doesn't suck at all' but their words were a little more colorful. And the San Bres red....it doesn't suck at all. wines Terroir Sauvignon Blanc 2008, New Zealand Quinta Do Correio White 2009, Portugal Domaine Luc Lapeyre San Bres 2009, Languedoc, France Trapadis Cotes du Rhone 2007, France The Guardian Cabernet Sauvignon, California
