This question always causes mini-riots during the holiday season so why not just throw that bomb out to our lovely cowineco customers.  Which is THE BEST Christmas movie ever?

The Drunk Catch, Muskrat Love, The Return of the Killer Abeja, and The Secret Shipwreck

Christian Venier Le Clos des Carteries Cheverny 2008, Loire Valley, France - $20.99/btl

So, this is the wine we just can't stop bringing home every night.  We've built menus around it, hugged it, drained it, and opened some more.  Though we're trying to describe wines less and less these days since our words for flavors may not match your tasting experience, for the sake of communication we'll call the tastes cherries and musk.  And maybe a little white pepper...and copper....see, there I go again.  This is hard.  PepperCopper muskrat love.  There.  Done.

This biodynamic red blend from Cheverny in the Loire is pinot noir and gamay, two of our favorite red varietals on planet Earth, and you just can't stop DRINKING IT.  I'm serious.  It takes great will power not to finish this bottle in one sitting.  I haven't met Christian Venier, but everyone who has describes him as a 'wild man'.  I assume they mean that in a "party guy" kinda way and they don't literally mean he's a 'wild man' as in Timothy Hutton in IcemanCLICK HERE to continue reading

Just in time for our early Spring, a new crate of GoVino glasses has arrived!  Already popular for Hollywood Bowl fanatics and cemetery movie buffs,  this 'glass' is actually rigid plastic that is thin enough to imitate the feeling of crystal.  The little notch has been deemed 'the drunk catch' by loyal CoWineCo denizens as it helps prevent slippage on that 3rd glass.

$9.99/four-pack

** need a bunch of these for a party? ask about special orders and bulk pricing **

REGULAR WINE TASTING SCHEDULE

Friday Wine Tasting: Abandon Sip!

TONIGHT! Friday, February 19th

5:30 - 8:30 pm

$15/person for 5 wines + artisanal cheeses from Auntie Em's

So, one of the wines we're pouring tonight (pictured above) is the 2nd label of a beloved chardonnay producer in Napa.  The cover story is, a commercial ship hit ground and the smart sailors aboard lost the ship but saved the wine.  There is a REAL story but upon pain of death, we're not allowed to say who made this wine.  All we can say is some really talented people got ahold of some really good and really tasty juice.

And this bubbly...man oh man...we predict it will be the first bubbly to knock our beloved J. Laurens off the hill as top-selling bubbly in the store.

And the reds?  Well in addition to our gushing above about the Cheverny, we have found 3 new Argentinian reds under $15 that blew us completely away....one was the Siete Cuchillos Malbec poured last week, and the other two are being poured tonight.
