Sake and Me

Sake....most everyone likes it when they have it, but they don't go out of their way to have it in their home.  Though that is changing quickly.  What do you like best?

Two Screwdrivers and a Bra Please and Let the Potus Keep it Potable

Hi there.  Since you like our newsletter (or at least receive it), why don't we go steady and you add us as a friend on Facebook or follow us creepily like a stalker on Twitter?  Whaddyasay? Click on the icons below!

Looks like the second installment of "WINE PARAPHERNALIA THAT MAKES US UNCOMFORTABLE AND/OR SCARED" (or W.P.T.M.U.U.A.O.S. for short) has come early.

Exhibit B:

First of all, rule #1 for kitschy wine country paraphernalia is you need a really bad play on words or something like "Wine Not?" or "Pirates Drink chARRRRRRdonnay" (which I kinda like).  The people behind the Obama Wine Stopper really phoned it in on this one (as did the artist).  I mean, how about "Yes We Cab" or "To Preserve and Protect" or "Obama In, Vinegar Out" or "Let the Potus Keep It Potable" ...anything.

FYI: we accept submissions for this part of the newsletter.  Please send on pics of the worst/best of wine world kitsch.

Dublin, Ireland holds a special place in our hearts because of our family heritage, my time at school there, and our trip years back for a dear friend's wedding.  Tonight we tip a glass to Dublin which was founded 1,021 years ago today on the banks of the river Liffey.  While we're doing that, I'd also like to tip a glass to the bar my friends and I stayed above for a couple nights which was a combination hardware store, lingerie store and bar.  We really need to look to Ireland more for our business models.

I'll take a screwdriver, a bra, and a screwdriver, please.  In that order.

See You Soon,

John and Jen

Aw, man, once in high school, my friends and I got totally ripped on this wine Eric's older brother bought for us. I don't remember the name, but it was all pineapple-flavored. That was the night we got kicked out of Arby's
