Friday Wine Tasting: Prodigal Wine Returns TONIGHT! Friday, March 4th 5:30 - 8:30 pm $15/person for 5 wines + artisanal cheeses from Auntie Em's So, the final wine in tonight's flight I wrote up LAST week but then the truck didn't show up in time for the tasting...LOVELY! Good times. But the good news is, you get to taste it tonight. One of the very, very, very few bright spots in this crappy economy is the fact that people are unloading wine on the cheap. Today's Paso cab is kinda ridiculous. It's not going to change your life, it's not going to make you pontificate the meaning of complexity in wine, but it tastes damn good for $12, so the fact that it's $7 means you will be happy. If light, subtle reds are your bag, many of our tastings would be right up your alley, but not tonight's tasting. Tonight we feature some big, bodacious, round, fruity reds, most of which are new to the store. Add on an aromatic but dry torrontes from Argentina and a full bodied, but dry and crisp Sauv Blanc from Mendocino and there you have it. wines Sesquipedalian Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Mendocino, California La Yunta Torrontes, Argentina Tolosa Edna Ranch Pinot Noir 2006, Edna Valley, California Maggio Petite Sirah, California Sevona Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles, California |
