You would never confuse downtown Eagle Rock with the outdoor malls and shopping areas that are crammed to capacity during the holidays. This northeast Los Angeles neighborhood, which revolves around the intersection of Colorado and Eagle Rock boulevards, is pleasantly devoid of chains. Instead, the streets are lined with locally owned and operated boutiques that sell one-of-a-kind gifts. Add to the mix some great dining options, and you end up with a perfect place for a day of unpressured browsing.
